Volunteers are the lifeblood of our rescue. Without our volunteers we would not be able to fulfill our mission of rescuing at risk German Shepherds throughout New Jersey. From Allie to Winston to Gabrielle, our volunteers make a difference in the life of a dog. Garden State German Shepherd Rescue is an all volunteer organization, consisting of a diverse group of volunteers. There are many ways that you can help make GSGSR a successful organization, all you need is a passion to help animals. Just some of the areas that we need volunteers include members who spend time walking our dogs, who help organize our fund raising events or who can offer technical and marketing skills. We welcome volunteers who might only have a few hours a month, as well as those who are looking to fill their day working on the many aspects that lead to a successful adoption. If you are intersted in volunteering, please send an email to Volunteer@gsgsr.org and our volunteer coordinator will send you a volunteer application and answer any of your questions. Or you can fill out an Application here
If you love dogs and have time to open up your home to a dog in need consider fostering with GSGSR. Fostering is one of the most satisfying and rewarding experiences you can have as it enables you to directly impact a homeless dog’s life. Check out our Foster Program for more information about fostering.
